Вадим Гутцайт озвучив позицію НОКу щодо можливої участі українських спортсменів в Олімпійських іграх у Парижі разом з атлетами із росії та білорусі

Наразі Міжнародний олімпійський комітет (МОК) офіційно не запросив росію і білорусь взяти участь в Олімпійських іграх-2024 в Парижі. Рішення про те, чи дозволять там спортсменам із цих двох країн змагатися під нейтральним прапором, наразі не прийнято.

Національний олімпійський комітет України продовжує консультації з суб’єктами олімпійського руху щодо питання участі збірної команди України в Олімпійських іграх за умови допуску до них представників з країн-агресорок. Ми працюємо над тим, щоб врахувати всі можливі аспекти цієї безпрецедентної ситуації. Остаточне рішення буде прийнято, коли всі відповідні фактори будуть розглянуті.

Наразі українські спортсмени беруть участь у відбіркових змаганнях до Олімпійських ігор лише за умови участі спортсменів із вищезазначених країн, допущених міжнародними федераціями як індивідуальних нейтральних атлетів та дотримуючись суворих умов нейтралітету, встановлених кожною з них. Багато міжнародних федерацій дотримуються позиції недопуску до змагань спортсменів із вищезгаданих країн, і НОК України рішуче підтримує цю позицію.

Крім того, НОК України й надалі твердо відстоюватиме олімпійські цінності та принципи, закріплені Олімпійською хартією. Мир в Україні не підлягає обговоренню, і ми твердо переконані, що Олімпійські ігри не повинні бути платформою для відбілювання чи легітимізації дій, які повністю суперечать цим цінностям.

Ми будемо продовжувати підтримувати діалог з українською спортивною спільнотою, МОК і міжнародними партнерами, щоб мати об’єктивну оцінку ситуації та виважену позицію.Про офіційну позицію, прийняті рішення та наші дії щодо цього питання НОК України повідомить на своїх офіційних вебресурсах.

Statement of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Regarding Participation in the Olympic Games in Paris Alongside russian and belarus athletes 14.08.2023, KYIV, UKRAINE

– The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine and its President Vadym Guttsait has issued the following statement to clarify NOC’s position regarding the participation of Ukrainian athletes in the Olympic Games in Paris in case of possible participation of athletes from russia and belarus.

As of now, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has not officially invited russia and belarus to participate in the Olympic Games. The decision whether the athletes from these two countries would be allowed to compete under a neutral flag is yet unknown.  As a result, the NOC of Ukraine has not yet formulated a final stance on this complex issue. We are working diligently to understand all aspects of this unprecedented situation and will provide our official position once all relevant factors have been considered.

Ukrainian athletes are currently participating in qualifying events for the Olympic Games, only if athletes from the said countries are participating, having been allowed by international federations under the status of individual neutral athletes and having adhered to the strict conditions of neutrality imposed by each respective IF. Many IFs continue the stance on non-allowing the athletes from russia and belarus to compete, and the NOC of Ukraine is of much support of this stance.

Furthermore, the NOC of Ukraine will continue to stand firm by the values that underpin the Olympic movement. Peace in Ukraine is non-negotiable, and it is our firm belief that the Olympic Games should not be a platform to whitewash or legitimize actions that are in complete contradiction to these values.We will maintain the dialogue with our athletes, the IOC, and international partners to ensure that our actions reflect these principles. Any further changes to the position of the NOC of Ukraine will be announced as required.
